The Lion Hotel was situated at
29 Wensley Street. |

Back in the 1960s it was tenanted by a chap called Jones, who
had two sons Howard and Neil. He went on to the Farmers Glory on Haslingden
Road. It was next to the gasworks and backed on to River Blakewater, my
playground once upon a time. Happy days. |
