The Brierfield Hotel was situated at 721 Blackburn Road. This pub closed in 2016.

I started my first foray into employment here in 1982 aged 15. I worked as a Silver Service Waitress in the restaurant at weekends and my grandmother use to work behind the bar. The landlord was 'August' and his wife, he was Portuguese. His brother ran the restaurant and I worked with 2 of his nieces. The head chef at the time was called Paul. I have great memories of the place. They left there and took over a pub on Mornington Road, Halliwell, Bolton before that got closed down and demolished.
