John Holding 1950s - 1960 A customer at this pub, we used to play darts there after a cycling event, there were a lot of time trial racing courses for cycling round Garstang, 25 mile, 50 mile, 100 miles and a 12 hours ride. Don't know what goes on now, I live in Oxfordshire. Great memories
Lyn Keaveney 1947-1974 My parents Harry and Betty (licensee) were landlord and landlady. My mum took the license on after her brother was called up to war. My three brothers and I had a happy childhood there. My father died in 1975 and mum then retired. They had a dart team in both a Preston and Garstang league and a ladies team too. They were the base for many a fishing competition on the canal and also for cycling races. Preston Wheelers held their meetings too.
