The Canal Tavern was situated at 68 Manchester Road. This pub closed in 1974. Source: Lesley Richardson   The bar and contents now reside on display at Townley Hall Museum. It had an unusual bar, being located on the left as you walked in off Manchester Road, halfway down a short flight of stairs to the lower ground floor level. George Pollard (March 2015)
