The Rose, Thistle & Shamrock was situated on Radcliffe Street. This Oldham Brewery pub closed in 1971.
Our family lived on Garforth Street and my father’s local was ‘The Shamrock’. He was a regular and enjoyed the games of dominoes and Cribbage played there with friends. I still have his cribbage unit. Pretty sure it was an Oldham Brewery pub. Looking at the map of Chadderton it seems Radcliffe Street was dissected by our street and the section where the pub was situated has since been developed as housing.
