The Cranberry Inn, also known as The Cranberry Fold Inn, was situated on Cranberry Lane. This pub was known as Bogarts at time of closure in 1990. The original building, known as Gronnys, was 300 years old and used as the lounge bar of the modern pub, with the rest of the inn built around it in a modern style.

This was a favourite haunt of the Motor Sport Fraternity throughout the 1960's and 1970's when the then owner was Don Barrow, a famous rally driver who competed in many international rally's including The Monte Carlo and Tulip rallies with his co-driver/navigator Jimmy Bullough... Another sad loss !

As an18 year old student at Blackburn Tech I was told of work as a waiter at Cranberry Fair, (1966). I arrived on the opening night, Vicky Carr the guest, about 20 people in the room, half of the waiters were given I think 5 pounds and told to be an audience. I arrived on the next night, Vicky Carr had been on television the night before and the place was packed, I am sure that with tips I was paid more than my dad. P.S.Beer was 2s 10d per pnt

I was also at the Fold to see Vikki Carr in 1966 and I became a lifelong fan. I saw her live again in 2016 in San Antonio Texas, a gap of 50 yrs. We flew from Australia and it cost a bomb, but it was worth it .In 2016,and needless to say I have collection of ALL her recordings. . For those who remember Vikki and do not know she has only made records in Spanish(her native language since around 1975. a back catalogue of 62 albums!
