The Cotton Tree was situated at 106
Market Street. This pub closed not long
after the 25th May 2012 murder of Mark Short by Dale Cregan. The council
took ownership of the pub in the aftermath, and it became an Indian
restaurant in 2016. The owners subsequently abandoned the building after
failing to pay rent and business rates. The council has stated that there is
a caveat in selling the building that restricts it ever becoming a pub
again. |
