Black Boy

The Black Boy was situated at 213 Liverpool Road.
I used to go in the black boy in the 70s and 80s, it was a corner street local with a small vault and an even smaller lounge that I can remember.
It was a Wilson’s pub which served there beers in excellent form, I drank the dark mild which was a great pint all served on the hand pump, I don't recall any other draught or keg beers.
The landlords name was Len who ran it with his wife whose name I can’t recall, it was a great little pub which I miss but I suppose that’s what they call progress !!

Donald Fraser 1965-1980 I am the son of the late landlord, Don Fraser. This pub had a write up in the local paper as being a small pub but the most sporting, winning many local cups in darts and football. The pub closing has broke my heart I wish I had the money to reopen it.
