I’ve been doing some family history on my wife’s side, from the records her GG Grandfather was the Landlord of the Rifleman Inn, 23 Caroline Street, Ince-in-Makerfield in 1891 (located between Ashton St and Edward St). I’ve found references to it from 1881 to 1925 but nothing since so far.Looking at Caroline Street now it would appear that everything has been demolished with the only buildings being a school and a few modern houses I suspect put up in the 1980’s.
