The Crown Vaults was situated on Kirkdale Road.

My grandfather George Kelly was the landlord of the of the Crown Vaults during the 1930's, my father John F Kelly grew up living there from 1931/2 to 1938/39. He told me that the pub was known locally at this time as "Kelly's pub" and was a hub of the local community.Several years ago I took my dad to the pub but sadly it was not operating at the time, but he pointed out the rear door that was their entrance to the living quarters above.
