The Parkside was situated at 62 Lloyd Street South. This pub closed in the 200s and has now been converted into flats.
My father Mick Pinkerton was a waiter at this Hotel ,he was a member of the 33 club a club founded by regulars. The landlord in the 1940s was a man called Valentine ,an ex international rugby player. Many of his internationally caps were on display, in a second floor corridor. A Manchester City goalkeeper. was a regular customer and would on occasions do a little comedy act, of a lady having a bath.
