Tommy Ducks was situated on East Street, and has now been demolished.

I used to go in Tommy Ducks in the late 1980’s  it was famous in Manchester because it had ladies used knickers on the ceiling ... classy place!!

The pub was owned by Greenall Whitley of Warrington, but unfortunately did not sell their beers in traditional form. Despite that shortcoming, it was hugely popular and the circumstances of its demise remain infamous locally. The pub was demolished at 3am on the morning of Feb 13th 1993, after a protection order had expired at midnight. The brewery was subsequently fined £150000.
