The Flag was situated on Parkside Lane and closed in 2006. Previously known as The Chequered Flag, but up to about 1970 was better known as the XL  and appeared in the Guiness book of Records as the shortest pub name in England. This was a Bass pub.

This pub reopened on 4th July 2011 as The Bellflower.
