The Trafalgar was situated on Railway Street and
is now used as a Punjab food shop. |

I was a relief manager for Bass Inns
and Taverns and carried out holiday management cover here in mid 1991. The
Bar was well managed by a guy called Robbie who originated from Scotland. I
remember having my haircut in the bar for charity by the girlfriend of the
editor of the Daily Sport newspaper. There were some great music nights and
discos and a friendly group of regulars.
The friendliest post office in the world was opposite and the postmaster
told me he was heading to Australia to be with his son who had settled
there. |
