The Barley Mow was situated at 1 New Hall Lane.
During the late 1930s The Barley Mow was an army recruiting office. My father was the recruiting officer and lived there until 1939. The small shop at the side of the gate was a tripe shop the other side was slaters clog makers. Got my last clogs in 1943.
