The Duke Of York was situated at 80 Friargate.
In 1983 this very small Lion pub was extended into the shop
next door when it became vacant. When it re-opened months later it was
called the Base and The Friars Gate amongst other names in the following 20
years or so. It closed and opened several times before becoming a
restaurant for the past few years. |

Spent a lot of time playing the
pinball in the back bar with friends met at Preston Grammar School. Les
and Mary were great hosts. Bimbo, Taz, Crowe, Alan, Nicky I hope you are
