Petre Arms

The Petre Arms was situated at Holt Mill Bridge. This grade-II listed pub closed after WWII and is now in residential use.
 

 
Listed building details:
Public house, probably late C18; now house. Watershot coursed sandstone (painted white) with stone dressings (black); concrete tile roof with gable chimneys. Double-pile three-bay plan. Two storeys. Front has dressed quoins, and an eaves band with gutter brackets; door offset right-of centre has rectangular surround with imposts and a fanlight; there are coupled windows on both floors to left, and three other windows, all with plain stone surrounds. Both gables have attic windows; rear has inter alia a four-tier stairlight composed of coupled windows (bottom level, to cellar, now blocked and concealed, third level altered), a coupled and a triple window at first floor.
