The Bridge Inn was situated on Calf Hey South.

This pub has now reopened.  This pub is one of Sam Smiths and the owner Humphrey Smith is very reluctant to close any of his pubs. It closed, but just for a very short time, whilst a new landlord could be found and that was a good many years ago.

Greg Goddard 1980 A very happy holiday spent in this pub when the then landlady mrs "bessie" hill , was here, her daughter who is a friend of mine now aged 85 still lives in my home town of essex, mrs hills son peter grimshaw also had a pub in rochdale at the same time , called "the ship" both are now sadly deceased.
