Lancashire Lass

The Lancashire Lass was situated at 444 Edenfield Road. This Charringtons pub was built on the site of The Staff Of Life and is now used as a Tesco Express. It closed in 2001.

I knew this pub in the later 1970s when I worked occasional weekends as a driver for Cutgate Taxis. Besides picking up many fares at the pub I often used to have a drink there - after work of course! It always struck me as friendly pub although I could not be classed as a regular. Pity it is now a shop – perhaps it typifies the change in our social life, from socialising in pubs to buying stuff to make Tesco rich!

Lisa Daughtry 1995-1999 I was a member of staff here from 1995 -1999. I am now living in Spain and have lost contact with all customers and landlady Kathleen O'Farrell. This was an amazing pub with great people and a wonderful atmosphere its a shame another great pub has gone.
