The Old Clock Face was situated on Toad Lane. This pub closed in 1973 and has now been demolished.

In the 1960's this pub held weekly folk nights. I occasionally performed but the star turns were Harry Boardman, Harry Ogden and sometimes the Lancashire poets Harvey and Mary Kershaw. They were some of the most enjoyable nights of that era.
