Pot O'Beer

The Pot O'Beer was situated on Spotland Road. This pub was known as Funnies at time of closure. Originally called The Jolly Waggoners, it is now in residential use.

I was a customer at this pub when it was called Funnies. We went on a number of occasions and each time had the most fantastic times there. We travelled from. Stoke-on-Trent each time.  It was a fun place to visit and an early example of a drag bar. The landlord or should I say lady would perform a great comedy show at the end of the night actually standing and performing on the bar itself. Miming to songs like Bobby's Girl etc and telling very risqué jokes. This was in the mid 80s but it they are very happy memories.
