My great…..grandfather Joseph Bridge was convicted of passing a false cheque in The White Bar in May 1804. The landlord was Mr. Lord and his wife Susan.  The pub must have been near the Woolpack and The Beaver as they tried the same trick at those premises too. (Joseph got 7 years transportation to NSW!)
