The Old Ship was situated on Chapel Street. This pub was a regular lunchtime venue for telephone engineers & telephone operators from the neighbouring British Telecom(ex-GPO) building known as Dial House. Serving Boddington’s beer, made only ¼ mile away at the Strangeways’ Brewery.
