Situated on Elton Head Road, The Prop & Pony
became transformed into Yanks some time in the 1980s, a popular era for the
theme pub. The name was obviously a reference to the United States Air Base
at Burtonwood, a throw back to the Second World War. Neon lights and US
style adverts were much in evidence, but Burtonwood Bitter was drunk in
greater quantities than Budweiser or Schlitz . |
