The Moorcock Inn was situated on Waddington
Fell.
It closed close just before Christmas 2010 when the owners
demanded a £1000 per month rent rise from my relative who was running the
place - having revived it after it had previously been shut. Great shame -
it was an interesting pub/hotel in a great scenic location, with a fair few
bookings for weddings and other functions already taken for the following
year, but the owners wanted to get it empty so they could redevelop it into
a pair of "Millionaire's properties". Two years on it still stands empty. |
