Known to us as the Cock & Trumpet, it had a
secret door inside that looked like a wall and there was a cocktail lounge
upstairs. It was a rough place with blood on the door handle and a fight
every night. We'd see flashers going in with yellow sou'wester macs on and
the ladies would giggle. We were 12 when we used to go in and there was no
problem with getting served. |
