The Noggin was situated at 687 Warrington Road.
I have never been there myself but my mother frequented the Noggin during the 1940s. She worked at nearby Risley Royal Ordance Factory (ROF) and this was their local pub. There were about 20,000 people working at Risley which must have kept the pub busy, although maybe there were other pubs. These people risked their lives on a daily basis filling highly explosive shells and bombs. Many were killed or maimed.
