Lou Borok 1956-1957 I was a sr. wireless operator on U.S. B-29/B -50 aircraft flying from HRH's Royal Air Force Station, Burtonwood. I was taken to the Pelican. I can only say about the Pelican...it simply felt just right. I knew I was a stranger, maybe unwelcome. The barman and many of the regulars came to accept me. I had many happy hours there. It was what I had thought a British pub would be like. I felt at home during those hours, just a bloke in for a pint.
