Known to many locals and regulars as The Dorchester. The pub
was sited on a farm and run by three brothers. I remember the wall-mounted
electric bar heater, complete with scorch marks up the wall above. As well
as beer, they sold Uncle Joes Mint Balls. |

I have just been for my lunch
with my wife to this pub which re-opened in recent years. The last time I
was in there, was back in the early 1980'S when some of us from the nearby
Waddecar Scout camp would
go there in an evening. Some of my recollections are the clock in the bar
that ran backwards; if you looked under 18 they would still serve you but
only with a half pint of mild and the local policeman coming in
after hours for a pint ! As per the other posting, I knew it as the
Dorchester. |
