The Rose & Crown was situated at 23
Leicester Road.
From 2004 the premises were an Indian restaurant. Boarded
up in 2015 an application to develop the building and site into homes was
successful. |

This was a largish pub
on the main A6 London Road with a decent sized car park on the front. So
lots of passing trade. The Coach and Horses was opposite so vying for that
same trade, more of a locals pub than the Rose. The R&C ventured into
selling big meat meals, 32 and 48 inch steaks etc in the 80s. |
