Black Swan

The Black Swan was situated at 169 Belgrave Gate. This pub closed in the 1990s.
We used to be a motorcycle club called “The Black Knights” and used the lounge bar of the Black Swan as our club meeting place. It was between the years of circa 1960 and 1970 The photo below is when several of the members rode down to Cornwall for a holiday in 1962. The photo taken at Land’s End used to hang above the fire place in the lounge bar for quite a few years and was still there in the late 1980’s before the pub I believe was refurbished and they say it became a restaurant/pub. You can see in the photo on the signpost, the name of our association “Black Night” and underneath was the name of the pub Black Swan, town Leicester and mileage 317 miles to Leicester.
