The George was situated on Haymarket. This pub was closed and demolished in 1960 to make way for the Haymarket Centre. A new George was then built on the site. Various names followed, including Topps, Rickshaws (1980s), Red Room, Crypt, Tower Gate (in 1998), Zues (2001), Niche (2007), Ice (2013). This pub closed in 2013 and has now been converted to retail use.
