The Mitre & Keys was situated on Applegate Street. This pub had origins going back to 1560. This later became the 'West End Coffee Bar' for a short time, before the whole area was demolished during the latter half of the 1960's.  The licence was transferred to the Rocket in New Parks, now itself demolished.
