Street. This pub was known as The De Montfort for several decades prior and
was then used as a private bar, before reopening as The Pub, which closed in
2014. |

Talking about this pub the other
day. Mate and myself played darts here; as well visiting infrequently
(it wasn't the liveliest place). A Courage pub |

I worked very briefly at the De Montfort taking over from
a female member of staff who was apparently stabbed! I was only 18 years
of age and lasted just a few weeks. The pub was then shut down and
coincidentally re-opened by Mark and Michelle under the name Wig and Pen
who I knew and they let me rent a room above the pub with my girlfriend
at the time Sam. |
