The Railway Hotel was situated on Station Road
and is now a private dwelling. This pub was previously known as The Bottle &
Glass and was present by 1812. |

My grandfather Sidney and his two brothers Jack and Frank lived
in Bardney, and I am the proud owner of the William Chapman Longcase
Grandfather Clock that was resident in the Railway for many years. So long
in fact the base actually sank into the floor. I heard that the Factory
workers used to set their watches by it every morning on their way to work.
The clock is still going strong. |
