Present by 1882 when the publican was John Gosling it became a bed and

My mum Frances Jagger was the final landlady of
the pub when it closed.
It was tied to the Hull Brewery and when my mother decided to call it a day
in 1961, the brewery felt that the pub was not sufficiently busy to reinvest
in. We served mostly the dockers and gravel workers and we were a pop in pub
on the way home. We were also the meeting place for the local Buffs club,
which was a working class version of the Masons. |
