There wasn't a sink for washing your
hands in the mens for a few years - and the one mens toilet didn't have a
seat. There was a gothic lady in the late '90s who owned a massive great
dane called Toots, and it was a regular occurrence to come back to your
table after going to the toilet to find Toots was sat in your seat and had
drank your pint. However it was a great pub - you could rely on it for great
music, with live bands every weekend - which showcased new bands every
Tuesday. It had good acoustics for a small venue. |

A mid 19th century two storey former public
house, constructed in red brick in English Bond, under a pitched slate roof
with two corbeled brick ridge stacks. The ground floor has an early 20th
century wooden panel door with overlight, and a single window flanked by
three large bar windows.To the far left was a carriage/goods entrance. On
the first floor are five plain sashes with swept heads and corresponding
coloured brick pattern above. Decorative string course below eaves. |
