The Elephant & Castle was situated on Liquorpond Street. This pub was later known as the Five Lamps and is now used as a Chinese restaurant. The publican in 1896 was Edwin Nicholson.

This pub closed by 1951 and was owned by the Soulby, Son & Winch brewery prior to that.
