The Dying Gladiator was situated at 44 Bigby
Street. This is the only pub in Britain to carry this name, inspired by a
Latin landmark.Over its main entrance, the owner created an exact replica of
a statue standing in the Vatican City. It was sculpted by William Clark when
he converted his Bigby Street house into a pub during the early 19th
century. |

This pub has now reopened. |
