The Kings Head was located on Church Street and
closed by John Smith's brewery in 1973 since when it has been demolished to
become a car park, in which the above plaque stands. |

My Great Great Grandfather, John Fox, born 1791 at Blyborough, was the
publican at the King’s Head in 1841. In 1851 he was described as a “Late
Victualler”, so presumably his tenure had ended by then. I don’t have any
other information on the King’s Head but I would love to hear from anyone
who has. |

We had our wedding reception here in March 1972, Mr & Mrs C
Mathews owned the pub then. |
