Three Tuns

The Three Tuns was situated on Wrights Lane. |

I wonder when this pub served its final
drink? My memories go back as far as 1955 and earlier. I was a little girl
in the early fifties (born 1947). My dad was the local blacksmith and my
best friend was Maureen Skelton whose family owned The Three Tuns in
Friskney. I well recall evenings spent with Maureen in the pub munching
crisps (with the little blue salt twist) and drinking pop supplied by her
mum and dad. I can almost still smell the beer and smoky atmosphere. I have
one photo of myself and Maureen but it was taken outside my home next door
to the smithy. Happy days long gone but remembered with fondness and a
craving to be back there even for just one day, or hour. |
