As an ex-pupil of Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School I am probably far from
the first to report this sort of activity : Autumn 1964, Lower Sixth, lunch
time, we used to take off our school blazers, put on our top coats and then
climb over the gate from the sports field in order to visit The Garibaldi.
Only a half of lager-and-lime, but a high-risk activity that could have got
us expelled (but - as I would have hoped - simply a severe finger-wagging
from the revered Head, P G Rowland). |
