The Crown & Anchor was situated at 3 Newland. Opened in 1790 as The Anchor and rebuilt in 1820.
 
This pub has now reopened as The Lincolnshire Red.

Dexters has now closed however the pub has now reopened as The Scarlet Red.

I lived here from 1933 until 1950. My grandfather was Walter Wilson , he was also captain of Lincoln City F.C. My grandmother, Margaret carried on after he died until 1950 approx. My mother ran the “Effie bar” at the same time.
