The Red Lion was situated at 28 High Street. The publican in 1872 was Charles Falkinder, in 1919 Joseph Gaymer.
 
William Grayson b.c1805 was the innkeeper of this pub from at least 1841 until at least 1851.

William Grayson was still at the Red Lion on 1861 where he was also a a farmer. My great great grandmother´s sister Rebecca Burrell was working for him as a dairymaid.

William Grayson was the publican until his death on 24 December 1863. He accidentally fell from a cart according to his death certificate.
