The Windmill was situated on the A15 and acquired by Soames Brewery in 1929. This pub was present by 1861 when the publican was William Claypole. It was a multi-functional site including agricultural buildings, a bakery and a house that served both as a dwelling and an inn. There was an adjacent corn windmill which was demolished in 1923.
