The Furnace Arms was situated at 3 High
Street and demolished in 1999. The name was changed to Bentleys in the early
1990s. Subsequently demolished along with the adjoining shops, Club 2000 now
stands in its place. For some time, was allowed to serve beer to
steelworkers from 6am to benefit shiftworkers at the steelworks. |
