Angel Inn

The Angel Inn was situated at 35 Double Street. This pub is now used as a private house. The publican from 1913 to 1919 was John Turner, who also acted as harbourmaster.
My Gt. Gt. Grandfather Captain Thomas Royce Owned, and was Landlord of The Angel Inn, when he died in 1878, he left the pub to his widow Harriett Royce ( Turner), his Step-Son Captain John Turner ran the pub when my Grand Mother died way before 1913.. My Grandfather had 5 ships in the 1800's, and he was a founder member of the Spalding Shipwreck Society.
