The Green Man was situated at Spalding Common. This
pub was owned by the Soames Brewery until sold to Steward & Patteson
in 1949. It closed on 30th September 1960. |

The retiring landlord in 1955 was Bill Riggall.
Lots of memories of this gas-lit, beer straight from the cellar, pub as Bill
Riggall was my grandfather. Pub came complete with smallholding, chicken
run, pigsty and black labrador named nigger - a gundog that was frightened
of loud noises |
