The Wheel Inn was situated on St Peters Street.  John Mills was the landlord of the Wheel (24 St Peter's Street) in 1796. He was also a wheelwright which is how the pub gained its name. He was still the landlord in 1835 and the pub was retained by the family until its closure in around 1880. The building was bought by Blackstones for their Rutland Foundry and demolished in 1887. The TA Driil Hall was built on the site in 1913 and this has now been turned into private housing.
