Crown Inn
The Crown Inn was constructed between 1851 and 1861. It was
situated directly across from St Matthew's Church and is now divided into
two dwelling houses. In 1871 it was run by Charles Garner, my Great
Grandfather. It had large grounds to the east which were sold off and the
land developed into a row of shops that still exist. There is no record of
it as an inn after 1891. |
